**Disclosure: I get commissions for purchases made through links in this post.** Full disclosure.

My site,, is devoted to the adorable and lovable sloth. On this site, I write articles about these wonderful creatures in an attempt to educate readers. I also encourage readers to slow down and enjoy their lives more, even if only a little bit – to try to be a little bit more like the sloth. I also write product reviews on sloth-related products and this particular article was my first one. Specifically, today’s article is a review of a mini book called Sloth Wisdom, one of many sloth books that have been published.

In my review, I will present information about the book, as well as discuss my pros and cons regarding it. I will attempt to provide enough information and go into enough detail in this article so as to (hopefully) give you all the information that you’ll need if you are considering purchasing this book for yourself or for someone else.

**Please note that the book that I am reviewing in this article may not be identical in every way to the one that is available through my affiliate link, but hopefully the two of them are similar enough that you’ll be able to make an informed purchasing decision based on the information that I have provided.**

Taking it slow means reveling in our surroundings and absorbing the richness we miss when we zoom past. So lie back with this little book and take a page from our sloth friends.”

Wise Words Of Wisdom

I enjoy reading quotes, especially ones that are inspirational and motivational. I also enjoy reading quotes that encourage relaxation and getting more enjoyment out of life. Sloth Wisdom presents a number of quotes in this book that pertain to slowing down, relaxing, and enjoying life more. 66 quotes are presented in this book, which come from a variety of sources, and from various time periods.

What I Like About This Book…..There Are A Lot Of Things!

There are a number of features that I quite like about this book. I have a website devoted to sloths, I encourage people to slow down and enjoy life more, and I enjoy reading quotes – Sloth Wisdom seems like a great book for me! And it is. But is it a great book for you, too? Let’s summarize what I like about it, and then go into more detail about each feature:

  • Content
  • Appearance
  • Extras

Content Is Important And I Like The Content Here

When reading books, articles, magazines, etc., I like to learn something about the subject, as well as enjoy the read. In my opinion, this book is educational mainly because of the quotes that are presented. Even if quotes only have a few words, they can still convey incredibly powerful messages – messages that we can learn from. Speaking of learning, there is a tiny bit of information on sloths at the beginning of the book that is educational, as well…..a very tiny bit.

As far as enjoying the read goes, I found that this book fit that bill for me very nicely. I imagine that not everyone enjoys reading quotes, but I am someone that does, and I found myself enjoying what I was reading in this book. I think that Talia Levy and Jax Berman did a great job when choosing which quotes to include in this book.

Appearance – Liking The Look

There are many features of this book relating to appearance that I find visually appealing. One such feature that I like is the fact that it is so small (3.1 inches wide by 3.9 inches high). Being this size, I am able to quite easily bring it with me in my travels as it fits nicely into a pouch in my backpack. I also like the smallness of it when having it on a desk, in a drawer, on a table, etc. as it does not take up as much space as so many other books do.

Another feature relating to appearance that I like about this book is the fact that it is full-colour. In addition, there are a number of illustrations that I found to be enjoyable to look at including leaves, flowers, and smiling sloths on tree branches. I think that Lindsay Dale did a great job of matching the illustrations to the intended theme of the book.

One more appearance-related feature that I like with this book is the combination of the hard cover along with a detachable dust jacket. I like the way the book looks both with and without the jacket on it.

Extra Extra!

Finally, the last features that I like about this book have to do with the “extras” that I was not expecting when I ordered it. It comes with a ribbon bookmark that I think looks pretty cool, as well as a charm (of a smiley face). This charm can remain attached to the bookmark, or it can be used on a necklace, bracelet, etc. I think it’s a great touch! Please note that the charm that my book has appears to be different from the one that is included with the book on Bookshop US, so I have not included a picture of mine.

What’s Not To Like – Let’s Take A Look At A Few Things

While there are many things that I like about Sloth Wisdom, it certainly may not be for everyone. I like the fact that the book is so small but I imagine that some people like to read books that are, well, “normal book size” (for lack of a better term). This book is small…..very small. And that will not be everyone’s preference.

Furthermore, there are only 66 quotes that are presented throughout this entire book. If you’re looking for a book filled with more quotes, this book is not for you.

Finally, under product details it states that there are 96 pages but when I count the pages in my book, I get around 70. And each of those pages only have a few words (a quote) or a picture.

***Please note that in this product review, I have provided my personal pros, cons, and opinions. Your list of pros, cons, and opinions is likely to be different than mine.***

My Rating: 8½ Sloths Out Of 10

After introducing the mini book Sloth Wisdom in this product review, I discussed what it is about, as well as going into more detail about what I liked (and did not like) about it. Overall, I enjoyed reading it and feel that I learned something from it. I found the content, appearance, and extras to be positive features of this book, with only a few potential dislikes that I came up with. I give it a rating of 8½ out of 10. • Thank you so much for this excellent book review, Michael! I love learning about sloths, love to read, and love colorful, picture-heavy books-I’m a very visual person. Haha We all need inspiration, and having such a portable and cute way of getting that inspiration is delightful! There may only be 66 quotes, but there are also 66 books of the Bible-I’m ok with that. Haha I absolutely love the smiley face ribbon-it makes me feel good inside. Great read! God bless you!

What a lovely little book, no pun intended, lol.
Reading a quote a day might just be the answer to helping us slow down and smell the roses!
And with it being so small, it would fit nicely in a pocket or purse too. Or simply something handy to reach for on our desks.
    Thanks for a great review!
